Keynote Speaker Spotlight
J. Hyatt Brown
Known for his incredible contributions to the Daytona Beach community,
including a $150 million endowment to the Museum of Arts and Sciences and
transformative downtown developments.
This year, Southern States Management Group is thrilled to welcome J. Hyatt
Brown as our Keynote Speaker for the 2025 HOA/COA Certification &
Conference!
You may have seen the headlines: The Brown family recently pledged a

groundbreaking $150 million endowment to the Museum of Arts and Sciences
(MOAS). This incredible gift includes $75 million set aside for a community
matching campaign aimed at raising an additional $25 million. The funds will help
create a stunning new 60,000-square-foot building on MOAS’s sprawling 60-acre
property—an investment that will leave a lasting impact on our cultural
landscape.
Just weeks later, Brown & Brown, Inc., the nationally recognized insurance
brokerage firm based in Daytona Beach, made another bold move. The company
acquired several properties, including the former First Baptist Church site and
nearby parcels, totaling about 10 acres. This acquisition is a key part of Brown &
Brown's vision to drive growth and support development in our region.
These efforts represent more than just financial investments—they highlight a
commitment to revitalizing Daytona Beach’s downtown, fostering economic
growth, and enhancing the community’s future. Brown & Brown’s continued
dedication solidifies their role as a pivotal player in shaping the city’s evolution.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to hear directly from Hyatt Brown as he
shares insights about these transformative contributions and the vision behind
them. Join us as we kick off the 2025 HOA/COA Certification & Conference—it’s
an event you won’t want to miss!

Southern States Management Group, (SSMG) launched their education initiative in June 2018 and have been pursuing every opportunity to collaborate with local professionals in an effort to educate community association leaders. The underlying goal of this initiative is to provide those leaders with thoughtful insight and practical knowledge to address the challenges that they face throughout the year. We recognize that these community leaders are volunteering their time and efforts and it is in keeping with this spirit that we endeavor to make sure that they are well equipped to face the challenges that may arise.

Additionally, our education events encourage an opportunity for community leaders to share ideas, stories and challenges while developing relationships with other association leaders within the community. These programs have grown in popularity and fill up quick!
