Due to the current health crisis in the country, many states and counties have offered additional funding for household expenses, extended food stamps programs, utilities assistance, etc. One of the programs being offered in Florida is a rental assistance program. This program is offering up to 15 months of rental assistance for renters who have a household income below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI). This program is accepting applications and will cover up to 12 months of past due rent and 3 months of forward-looking rent payments to be paid directly to the landlord. Those applying with an AMI of 50% or below or have experienced unemployment in the last 90 days will be prioritized. There is also assistance available for past due utility payments as well.
